Depending on the condition of your mouth at some point, the dentist performs various types of procedures. While cleaning teeth, fillings and collages include some sessions routine more complicated procedures are now commonplace and easy to complete. In addition to the root canals and extractions of wisdom teeth, dental crowns are often required as well, and are available in more than one way. Before distinction between different types of dental crowns, consider the roles.
Dental crowns
A dental crown (also called a cap) is a prosthetic fixed object cemented onto a tooth. Only a dentist can remove once it is in place. The main purpose of a crown is to cover a damaged tooth, but also strengthens, improving their general appearance and alignment in the mouth.
The crowns can be made by taking an impression of the tooth or teeth that will cover. Before the appearance is created, your dentist must first reduce the size of your teeth so that the crown is properly adjusted. Your dentist may also place a temporary crown while the permanent is in progress.
Types of Dental Crowns
There are four different types of dental crowns.
Ceramics - are used for the restoration of the front teeth, and are very popular in this area for their ability to match the color of natural teeth. The ring is made of a material based porcelain.
PFM - This crown provides a stronger than regular porcelain union, as it is connected to a metal structure. It is also extremely durable.
gold alloys - This crown is a mixture of gold, copper and other metals. In addition to providing a strong bond to the tooth, it does not fracture or wear it, the tooth itself.
Base metal alloys - This ring is made of non-precious metals, which are highly resistant to corrosion, and make a very strong ring. Also it requires the least amount of healthy tooth to be removed before mounting.
The differences between the types of Corona
Sealability crown depends ceramic filler materials and the quality of the underlying tooth, according to the American Dental Association (ADA), while the other three provide especially good leak tightness.
Sustainability is better in gold alloys and metal crowns, while the crown-ceramic tends to be less strong, more suseptible if put under sufficient pressure (if you grind your teeth at night, which can be a problem). However, the metal-ceramic crown offer greater durability. Both based porcelain crowns are very resistant to wear, but can quickly deteriorate if the surface opposing teeth adjacent becomes rough. Moreover, gold and alloys are resistant to wear and soft on opposite teeth simultaneously.
Although sometimes come loose or fall off, the crowns can last a lifetime if properly maintained. The best way to accomplish this is through oral health. Brushing and flossing twice a day are your go-to methods for keeping your teeth healthy every morning and evening. Use a toothbrush Colgate Plus as two levels to keep your hair clean, especially the back molars teeth. Above all, regular checkups with your dentist planning is essential to maintain good oral hygiene will not have to choose between these different types of dental crowns.

ReplyDeleteIt is a great idea to teach children about the benefits of visiting a dentist in such an engaging way. At the very least, they’d know why you insist that they brush their teeth after meals, and how it can affect their dental health. Anyway, it’s great that they got a clean bill of health from that impromptu dental screening. I hope it stays that way for quite some time. Cheers!
